Ashia Thompson, MBA is the President of Thomson Accountants Inc. (TAI) formerly Baer Tax Group. Ashia has worked in the accounting field since 2009 and holds both a Master in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Molloy College on Long Island.
When not overseeing TAI, Ashia enjoys spending time with family, traveling and participating in sports.
Jeanette Neven majored in college in banking and finance. Since graduating her career experience spans the private sector, governmental and not for profit areas of accounting. She has held roles as controller, manager and accountant. Jeanette enjoys resolving complex accounting issues for clients.
When not at TAI, you will likely find Jeanette on the tennis court or on a world travel adventure.
Amy M. Halstead joined TAI as an accountant in 2016. Amy graduated from SUNY with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Economics and Management and achieved a GPA of 3.8, summa cum laude. Currently, Amy is pursuing Graduate level courses in taxation. Amy is also a NYS Licensed Notary Public.
Prior to joining TAI, Amy worked in construction industry operations since 2004 and is currently an active co-owner of a local specialty construction company.
When not crunching numbers, Amy enjoys residential renovation projects, motorcycle riding, growing garlic on her small farm, spending time with her family and raising her English Cream golden retriever.
Barbara Massey joined TAI in June 2021. Barbara is a career Executive Assistant/Project Coordinator and has held positions across a variety of business environments in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Barbara attended Marist College and Los Angeles Valley College majoring in mass-Communications with a focus on Journalism and Creative Writing. She returned to Upstate NY after nearly 40 years living in California.
When not at TAI assisting our clients, Barbara enjoys many creative outlets including textile design, photography, writing, and spending time with her adopted fur-family.
Chelsea Maurer joined TAI in March of 2023. With studies in Business at Columbia Greene Community College, her diverse career history began as a cosmetologist for 13 years. After running her own business, she moved to various customer service positions in Columbia County. Chelsea loves working with people and is one of our front office administrators and also assists with personal tax preparation.
When not at TAI, Chelsea is making travel plans or taking day trips to sight see. Her creative hobby is all things art, loves the outdoors and spending time with her family.
